Introducing productvision.org

Keeping the blogs focused

It’s been bugging me that the focus of StealThisIdea.com was torn between multiple purposes:

  1. Getting a pile of design and product vision ideas off my chest and into into the wild.
  2. Releasing useful models and techniques that I developed over the course of fifteen years designing products, that I hadn’t taken the time to publicize (like SSNiF scenarios)
  3. Laying out my frameworks for conducting product vision.

The third, in particular was really sticking out.  It’s confusing having articles about big ideas like the Design Pyramid juxtaposed with paeans to toothpaste tubes and rants on how to improve the iPhone UI.

Product vision is the main focus of my writing right now.  I’ve developed and used a framework for doing it since the mid-90′s and have been threatening to write it up for years.  Colleagues have been asking for a clear place to go to find it.

And so I have decided to spin off a sister blog to this one: productvision.org.  Please have a gander, add it to your RSS newsreader and sign up for the product vision newsletter, and leave me some comments!
